Blue metal for pipe support

Basement Pit

This is the access through basement with pit at the lowest point. It is full doing its job collecting any soakage from the rock layers. Notice the green color this is left over dye we were using to test the new drainage system for any leaks before covering with ‘forticon’ membrane and concrete.

The pit will later be fitted with a grate and small auto pump to dispose of any soakage.

Storm water lines in

You can see the 4″ PVC line here penetrating the corflute edge board of the “ultra floor”.

Notice the Kordon membrane for termite proofing just under the beams. This carries around the perimeter and all penetrations are wrapped.

Slab step down steel junction

The is a slab stepdown of 70 mm for deck and a junction between suspended slab formed on fill and a suspended slab composed of “ultra floor”. Notice the hook on the steel ends for slab traction. Engineers love this sort of detail.

There is also a z bar there to carry the loads through the step.

Screeding the slab

In the for you can see the results of a good screed job which makes the floating & helicoptering alot easier later on in the process

Finishing Slab

Waiting here for the 32 mpa concrete to go off. There is no heat in the day and the 1% accelerator is not helping any. It is 2pm and the bullfloat hasn’t gone on the front section yet…in fact we were hoping that in the unsealed condition it would dry out quicker and we could put the helicopter straight on so we could go home before dark.

Tanks snug under “ultra-floor”

Not much room left for drainage and stormwater pipes to be connected up. Specific auto shut off value for storm flow is required so tanks don’t over flow.  Tanks here are being tested for any leaks before they are locked in place for ever from overhead slab.
